We have only ordered a limited number of books in China as most of the books will be printed in Europe. If you wish to order more books, please let me know before the Conference date. The book costs 25 Euro. The International edition will be available in January and would cost substantially more because of the VAT and postage.

The IPIL Visiting International Scholars Program (VISP) at the University of Houston Law Center is designed to facilitate research on Intellectual Property & Information Law (IPIL) by foreign scholars. The IPIL Institute at the University of Houston Law Center has long encouraged international exchange of research and scholarly ideas in its field.
The Institute has now expanded those initiatives through the creation of the Visiting International Scholar Program. The program is made possible by the active support of IPIL sponsors and provides funding for foreign scholars to participate in the UH Law Center community and pursue research in IPIL.

Anton C Welgemoed (LLB, University of Pretoria) and (LLM, University of South Africa) had been with the Department of Criminal and Procedural Law at the University of South Africa for the past two and a half years. As researcher he was involved with research projects for committees and professional associations. He had done research at both the universities of Harvard and Stanford in the following fields: Media law, Military law, Environmental law, Transboundary Transport law and Internet law. He completed his articles at WGB Attorneys and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2006. He practiced as an attorney until joining the University of South Africa where he was a lecturer in Media and Communication Law. In 2007 he completed his LLM degree with a dissertation entitled: “Media law: Aspects of the newsgathering functions of journalists in a conflict zone”. He passed away on July 9, 2007. |
