IAKOVOS FARSEDAKIS is an Emeritus Professor of Criminology, Panteion University of Athens and the Chair of the Law Department of the European University of Cyprus. He is the Vice President of President, A.I.C.L.F., International Association of French Speaking Criminologists (Geneva); Secretary, Scientific Commission International Society of Criminology (Paris) ; Editor of the "Criminal Justice" Review (monthly "Criminology" Review (bi-annual) and "Hellenic Review of Criminology"(bi-annual). He finished law National and Kapodistrian University of Athens ; postgraduate at the D.E.S. Higher European Studies (University of Strasbourg), D.E.S. Comparative Law (University of Strasbourg); D.E.S. History of Law and of Social Facts (University of Strasbourg); Ph.D.: Doctorat d'État en Droit (LL.D) (Faculty of Law, University of Strasbourg).
Professor Farsedakis is also a Professor of Criminology at the Greek Police Academy, Cyprus Police Academy; Director of the Greek Center of Criminology; Secretary General of the Marangopoulos Foundation for Human Rights ; Secretary of the Scientific Commission, International Society of Criminology (Paris) ; Consultant, United Nations, Council of Europe, European Union, Greek Parliament and Greek Governments ; Member of Law Reform Commissions; National Representative of Greece to the E.U. Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN); and author or co-author of eighteen (18) Books and of a great number of Articles.
