Venue.
The University of Economics, Prague (Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze) is the leading university in the field of management and economics in the Czech Republic. The University of Economics, Prague has six faculties - five in Prague and one in Jindřichův Hradec in South Bohemia. These include: the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, the Faculty of International Relations, the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Statistics and Informatics and the Faculty of Economics and Public Administration. The faculty based in Jindřichův Hradec is specialized in management. VŠE is composed of about 15 500 students who are served by more than 650 academic staff as well as about 500 non-academic staff.

How to get there

| 1919 |
The Commercial College (VŠO) was founded as an independent department of the Czech Technical University. It had specializations in Wholesale Trade, Banking and the Organization of Industrial Companies. |
1929 |
The VŠO was reorganized and incorporated into the Czech Technical University. The study course was also lengthened to four years. |

1934 |
The VŠO gained the right to award the Doctor of Commercial Sciences degree (RCDr). |

1939-45 |
Along with all other universities the VŠO was closed down by the Nazis. |

1949 |
The University of Political and Economic Sciences was founded containing the faculties of Economics, Politics and Diplomacy and Social Sciences. |
| 1953 |
The University of Economics (VŠE) was established consisting of five faculties: General Economics, Finance and Credit, Statistics, Production Economics and Commerce. |
1990-91 |
Following the "Velvet Revolution" the VŠE experienced a general reorganization. |

1998 |
The VŠE became a full member of CEMS (Community of European Management Schools). |

1999 |
The VŠE became a full member of PIM (Partnership in International Management). |
